Hello everyone! First and foremost, the staff would like to apologize for being a bit inactive. Maggie and I have been battling high school, and we're so very thankful Ducky doesn't have to deal with that drama. Please remember to log into every single one of your accounts, actively post in roleplay threads, and vote for us daily on topsites. Apparently, it resets every month so we have to keep voting to get our number up. We've had quite a few new members. Be sure to give them a warm LWUT welcome when you get a chance. I think that's all you really need to know. Be sure to look out for an upcoming activity check and of the month nominations!
welcome to our nifty little forum, home of the gifted roleplay labeled like we used to. if you take a peek into this board, you'll find the rules, plot, ability list, and even a cute little guide about finding your muse. if you're new, you may find the check-list helpful. you are required to understand our plot and rules before you register. by registering, you're agreeing to our forum rules.
a bulletin board typically has a lot of important announcements, right? well, this board is no exception. the administrators will be constantly be posting things that are important for you to see. every month, you can expect to see activity checks and of the month nominations and voting. meanwhile, you may see out of character and in character events. be sure to check back every so often so you don't miss anything!
when you are in need of assistance, especially in your great time of concern, please don't hesitate to come and ask a question. of course, we provide a frequently asked questions thread, so make sure to check there. in the meantime, we're also taking suggestions to better improve the forum for members and potential members. if you have an amazing idea, or you are feeling inquisitive, feel free to drop by this board. i suppose it'd be helpful to mention we're guest-friendly.
after you register and have a character in mind, the next stop happens to be this board. as long as you use the application format given, post in the right board, and follow the rules as you do so, we will be completely hunky dory. remember, you may not roleplay with your character unless you've been accepted. please be patient. there are a few of us, so it should be done fairly quickly. if for some reason your application has been sitting for a few days, feel free to politely private message an administrator.
as soon as your character has been accepted, an administrator will move your application to this board. the characters are sorted by gender. please be sure to head to the claims to claim everything incredibly important. afterwards, you can go ahead and start roleplaying and posting in the in-character games. we'll see you around the forum!
mostly for the organization of our site, the claims and whatnot handles claims, obviously. claims include communication, housing, and occupation. most importantly, there's a face claim. a full list of members and their characters can be found here also. please make sure you claim all the claims that apply to your character before you begin roleplaying. face claim and member lists are most likely the most important we know claiming stuff is a drag, but we need this stuff on record for you, me, and your fellow members. be a team player, and claim your claims!
with a shipping page, you're enabled to plot with your fellow members. we prefer you keep all of your characters on the same thread, but if that's not your thing, go ahead and make one per character. the first five plot pages pinned to the top happen to be the threads of the brilliant administration team on like we used to. i'm sure they would love your visiting them as well as your other members. heck, why don't you start your own thread? honestly, shipping pages really is the step to actively posting.
if you need to request a character for a plot, this is the place to do it. if you want to pick up a character and make someone's life, this is also the place to do it. keep in mind, there are a lot of plots, so once your advertisement has been picked up, be sure to notify an administrator right away. that way we can move it to the completed advertisements. put a [C] in front of your title so we know, please. any advertisements not bumped in a week will be moved to the dead advertisements board. we don't want inactive ads covering up the more active ones, right?
i could easily tell you these are trackers and i could tell you trackers are self-explanetory, but what's the fun in that? these trackers are magical trackers for the awesomesauceness members of this unique and crazy forum we all call home. since we're human, and humans forget things, we have so kindly made this board for your useage. within this board is two sub-boards; one is for tracking threads and the other for tracking characters. they're pretty nifty and useful. care to use this great feature?
text message? picture message? live call? one missed call? voicemail? all of your cellular needs can be satisfied right in this very board. texting may not be as swift as say an instant message, but it gets the job done. it happens to be a bit more mobile, too. a word of the wise? if you're texting in class, try not to seem to conspicuous. just because you have your phone hidden doesn't mean a teacher can't figure out why you're smiling while you're looking down under.
with such a self-explanatory name, why would we need a description? another nifty tool to come into contact with your friends, you can use this from aim, yahoo, and countless others. like an email, once you send it out, you're not getting it back. some use this for boredom, some ask for answers to homework, and others start that mushy gushy conversation boyfriends and girlfriends tend to have. either way, you're using it. remember, this is online, so watch out for stranger danger! who am i kidding? do kids really care about that these days? go wild!
Whether it be passing notes in class, writing a letter to a love one, or even grocery list, anything that requires a writing utensil on paper fits into this category. after all, taking time to write a letter tends to come off as more romantic than typing up a gushy e-mail. i do realize letters are outdated, but passing notes in class? fresh.
when the going gets tough, do you sit down and give up? Do you refer to a journal? Do you turn to your lover’s shoulder to weep upon? Well, for those of you who write your troubles in journals, we have you covered. Whether it be that old leather-bound book with a lock or a journal online, you can pour your thoughts, insecurities, hatred, jealousy, angst, bliss, agony or just plain numbness into your own storybook. Some are forced to write to clear their minds for sport activities. Some do it on their own. It’s alright, just let it all out. I’m sure no one will read it. Just make sure they don’t find your hiding place under your mattress.
photos capture the soul of the moment and last until someone rips it up, but it’s still memorable. Photo albums are collections of the good memories, the bad memories, the sad memories, and everything beyond or in between. Use an old scrapbook or use an online photo gallery, we don’t care. Why not share some pretty pictures with us? We’d love to see you and your friends or family being complete idiots, or totally serious. Let us oooh and aaaah at your brilliant smile, mischievous dimple, or that spinach wedged between your teeth (not really).
Where would a school be without gossip? Who's dating who? Where were they on Saturday night? If you're smart, you'd be careful with your shannanigans. The gossip can catch anyone. the blogger is not afraid of getting her hands dirty on special cases. on second thought, be grateful while you can. she gets anyone or everyone. spicy couple? she'll know you. heated debate? she'll find out. you're secretly gay? well, that won't be a secret for much longer. for those of her loyal readers, if you would like to give her some details, make sure you post as a guest in the subboard within. why not help stir up some drama, but you don't want anyone to know who you are. maybe use her advice column if you're worried about something. be careful though, she might trick you. she's a sneaky thing.
if you happen to attend newton high school or simply live in newton, this is certainly the place you'll be residing in. the newton residences are more suburban than the donner beach residences, but they definitely are worth something. two stories, single stories, apartments, and condominiums are common. you may see some along newton beach and the cliffs, but again, due to its suburban origin, it's mostly industrious homes.
Home of the sharks, Newton Beach High School educates the gifted population of the island. Obviously, Newton houses a great deal more than Donner Beach due to the circumstances. All kinds of people attend Newton Beach High School, being all kinds of gifted people are pushed onto the island against their free will. There are different cliques as a usual high school, and boy is the school pride evident. Newton Beach students take their sporting events very seriously.
This beach is far less used than the one down in Donner. In fact, it's hardly a tourist attraction at all. The beach is rocky, but there's not much of a beach anyways. The cliffs jut out, but people sometimes come to jump off into the water. It's a great place for rock-climbing, but the waves are quite unforgiving due to the lack of shelter provided. The waves can become rather large with twenty feet high records. Signs warning swimmers not to swim are posted all along the coast.
Franklin University is the only university on the island apart from various community colleges. Franklin University sends out a majority of the scholarships on the island. If you're a local on the island, Franklin is typically your team since you probably attended it. Home of the Pirates, Franklin hosts a bunch of sports. Of course, the academics are also spectacular. Segregated before, gifted humans as well as normals attend the university together.
the seabird theatre is a double feature type of thing. half of it holds the IMAX theatre while the other part is your regular box office hits. every other friday new movies come to the box office, so you won't be bored anytime soon. 3-D features costs a bit more than others. toddlers are free to watch movies while children and seniors are a little less than the adults. you can buy buttery popcorn, large sodas, nachos and hot dogs for the show at the concession stands. the prices are high, but the smell of popcorn is irresistable. please, silent your cell phones now.
The Patio is the home of The Patio Gourmet Burger. This restaurant located in eastern newton isn't going to disappoint! The Patio's walls are covered with tons of sweet framed photos along the walls as well as other signed athletic equipment. The walls are lined with a dozen booths, and there's a special bar seating area. A kids menu with a handful of selections and a general menu with a bunch more, this restaurant can quench any burger, wrap, salad, or pasta craving.
store, store, food court, and more stores are located inside this multi-story mall. you can find the best fashion botiques, the latest sportswear, furniture, trinkets, toys, games, electronics, and super greasy yummy food in this mall. down on one end of the mall you'll find a sports bar and grill near the small IMAX theatre. the shops are hiring, too, so maybe you can get a job here and see all your friends having fun while you're stuck on your shift. that sounds like fun, doesn't it? not really, but it'll give you money for the next shopping spree (if you're not working).
you broke your nose, you need stitches, you're not feeling well, you've got an ear infection, you need your cast taken off, you're having a baby, you're in need of a check up, you can't feet your left earlobe, or you're not breathing ! call the paramedic for the more serious things and they'll rush you towards st. carol's emergency hospital. the hospital is located near donner beach and has several clinics around the island. inside, there is also a dentistry, eye therapist and any other thing. thank goodness we have a hospital, right?
the newest club in town, infared is an upscale, upbeat new hotspot on newton. the club is for anyone twenty-one and older, and you will be checked for your identification card. you think you can sneak passed the bouncers? don't be so sure. club infared has the highest of security. you have to be of age to drink their imported alcohol, chilling on the plush leather booths located around the dance floor. musicians are wanted to perform. it's a pretty crazy place one friday nights. the parking lot is packed and the dance floor at its fullest. try not to get hurt, alright?
for eighteen and older, celcius is a club for those that need to get away from their lives for a little while. it's got a fairly good sized parking lot, and nice neon lights. the bouncer will check you for you ID, unless you look like your grandma, which then, he'll escort you out to your car and tell you your dentures need a soaking. no shoes, no shirt, no service. word of advice? don't go driving home when you're wasted.
originally from seattle, washingtom, starbucks has made a break through by coming to our very own newton island. now, starbucks named brands are located in our very stores. if that's not enough, be sure to stop by this delicious spot in town. by simply entering the coffee shop, you're met with the ground aroma of coffee beans. starbucks offers free wi-fi, so feel free to bring your laptop and make yourself at home on one of the two sofas snug in the corner. it's definitely comfortable!
Unlike the Newton Beach Residences, the ones near Donner City happen to be more sparse. Instead of highscale apartments, you'll find small bungalows, beach houses, horse properties, cliffside homes, and million dollar homes. These homes are definitely pricier than the Newton ones, based on the iconic location. All of them homes are under an hour away from the famous Donner Beach. Mainly normals live on this side of the island due to Donner Beach High School.
donner beach is by far the best beach newton island can offer. the beach stretches for miles on the southern part of the island before being interrupted by the newton beach on the eastern seaboard. to get to donner beach, you have to drive a couple hours for the best place. near it is the small town of donner where you can eat, shop and just have fun. be careful though, the cops here are mean and are always looking for trouble.
At this school, fireballs, ice shards, shields, and invisble pranksters won't be causing havok in the hallways. This school is much smaller than its rival, Newton Beach, due to the widely proportion amount of gifted to normals. This school seems to be a lot more peaceful, and the rivalry between Newton runs deep. Even their mascot, the Colt, happens to be inferior to the Newton Beach sharks.
beachside park is probably one of the coolest places on the island. there are plenty of palm trees surrounded by grass, and in it are some awesome things. it's got a good sized skate park, complete with railings and places to ride the wall. there's a playground for the littler kids, with tall slides and fire poles to slide down. don't forget about the picnic area, where there are plenty of tables and shade to eat with that special someone! the last part of the park is the trails that go around the whole park, and into the 'jungle' of the island. you can get tours to show you the different type of wildlife and plants, if you've got the cash.
the ascfield public library is the largest library on the island. it has rows and rows of books for you to choose from whether it be fiction, non-fiction, biographies, folktalkes, informational, or fairytales. the library will give you the answers you need to know. a specially marked teen zone features monthly magazines, bean bag chairs, a slurpee machine and some computers. there's a java bar for coffee, strudels and scones while you study. more computers can be found in the back, and the library has comfortable arm chairs and tables located all around. you must be quiet, though. the librarians are quite strict about noise.
this grocery store has the cheapest prices around. everything from hair products to diapers, and everything from cakes to milk. it's a store that you know will have whatever you're looking for. if they don't for some reason, they won't pause a minute to call and order the thing you're wanting, just for you. everyone knows everyone, so it's likely that your neighbors, your friends, and your family go to this grocery store just as much as you do. they're known for the best customer service on the island!
Carl’s brakes do one hell of a job, but be warned: it’s not very cheap to get this dedicated service. Down wedged between two out of business shops, Carl’s is still going strong as can be. They see tons of cars since it’s one of the only working mechanics on the island. Carl’s service can be quick depending on the damage. Even though it’s costly, they only fix what needs to fixed. They don’t con you into getting five additional perfectly functional parts replaced. That’s a waste of their time and yours.
every good home needs a daycare to take care of the young ones. sunshine care is a top-class daycare center with reasonable prices. they're open monday through friday, but have additional weekend services if you're in need of them. the daycare includes a grand playroom, a large outdoor play room, a playground, and a nice napping room. naptime is included, but you can pick your children up before it. if you're going out of town, you're more than welcome to sign up for the sunshine extended care services. just take a look at the brochure !
all of the abandoned animals need some place to live. if your dog or cat has too big of a litter and you can't pawn them off to one of your friends, they will go here. it's got all of the dogs in cages down one of the hallways, and cats down the other. other pets like gerbils and snakes sit on the outside, almost like a pet store, except these animals are usually healing from injuries or have something mentally wrong with them. don't those kinds of animals have the most personality, anyways?
do you want abs like the fanciest of stars? do you want to be in great shape to accomplish anything? do you want to be as skilled as someone in the olympics? stardom fitness can't promise anything, but they can surely do all they can to help you lose weight or achieve whatever other goals you may have for yourself. stardom fitness is open for twenty-four hours everyday. they are opened almost every day of the year including christmas and thanksgiving. there's no closure for this gym.
Unfortunately, we can’t have every single place known to man and alien on here. Our solution? This board right here. Whether your setting be your special garden, meadow where you shine, or just an alley that you like to go to, this is the place you’ll go. You can do lots of stuff here since it’s a board with a pretty open title. Anywhere else could refer to anywhere and everywhere. It could be your grandpa’s house, under your bed, on a river, under a sink, in the toilet, or some weird place. keep it realistic.
special memories, space-time manipulators, time travelers, roleplaying bittersweet futures, or simply taking a trip down memory lane, this is where you character can travel to the past and future. of course, you have to have a specific reason for traveling. we prefer you keep your time travel at a minimum because we'd rather keep it in the present and not stuck in the past or future. get creative though, the possibilities are endless.
sure, when you rest your head on your pillow at night your mind takes you to places you might know fairly well or places entirely new to you. either way, it's just a dream and unless you are a procognitive dreamer, it probably won't come true. of course, you must be careful. a dream manipulator may sweep into your dreams and change details. it's dangerous, but you can't help what you dream about, can you?
If you want to roleplay something really quick, whether it be an argument or something sweet, you can post a thread here. the posting minimum does not apply. you can simply write as much as you need to get the thread done. however, the threads you do here do not count to your posting count because they're not full fledged posts if you can get away with a couple sentences. please refrain from a couple sentences, though. try a paragraph. thank you.
sometimes you need to write something out with no intention of having anyone reply. these threads can be from the past or present or future. it'd make sense to have one thread per character, but if you insist on having more than one, there's not any kind of force trying to stop you. if you no longer want your thread in this board, please contact an administrator and they'll be sure to move it to the archives for you.
discussion board. self-explanatory. Let’s just say you don’t know what discussion is. Do you know how to discuss or chat? Do you know how to be insane? Do you know how to talk? Well, I’m pretty sure you can use this board then. We’re pretty crazy and sometimes we do some pretty stupid stuff and decide to post it up. Sometimes we just need some help with homework, ideas, or something else super duper important. Sometimes we post stuff that’s on our mind.
graphics? no way. ee love these things. ee love them so much, we’re constantly making them for people, sharing them, and everything like that. Yes, you may post your pictures that you drew here, too. You may post a shop to make requests by your fellow members. Yes, you may add buttons to our amazing button gallery. Yes, you may post a thread asking for some graphics. Yes, you can ask questions about manips here. Yes, you can post a graphic for your fellow members to rate. Yes, you can do anything graphic-related here.
Games are perfect to play in between waiting for posts and being alone when you happen to come on to a ghost town. Make sure you are an accepted character before you post in the in-character games. You’re allowed to post in the out of character games, but you must be accepted to participate in games that are labeled or described as in-character. If you win, you get a prize. I have not figured out what yet. Maybe a big white and black panda…
Inactivity happens, and when it happens, your threads get a one-way ticket to the archive library. If your thread has not been replied to in three or more weeks, your thread is considered dead and will be moved here. If you would like your thread re-opened, you’ll have to ask an administrator to unlock the thread and move it back. If you finish a thread, make sure you tell an administrator so they can move it to the archive library.
Hello, goodbye! Yes, this is the absence board of the sorts. If your life is getting hectic and you need to take a hiatus, make sure you tell us where youÂ’re going to be so then we donÂ’t worry that youÂ’ve died. If youÂ’re going on vacation for two weeks and you donÂ’t know whether youÂ’ll be back because school is starting, just tell us. New members, please feel free to make an introduction thread. We would love to get to know you!
Going to advertise? Want to affiliate? Well, you’ve most certainly come to the right place. Just keep these few things in mind. One, use the correct board when you advertise. Two, your site must be below PG-13 and follow proboards tos. Three, please only post one ad for each site. If you post a billion ads, we’re going to delete all of them. proboards and invisionfree.
